October 10 7:00 to 9:00 pm

9 Years in the making. The Last Mountain Caribou is a film about a vanishing herd of caribou, living right here in our backyard. Only a few lucky motorists each year driving the Kootenay pass may get a glimpse of one, giving credence to the nickname, “grey ghosts”. Unfortunately, the sightings on this highway are becoming ever rarer. These caribou are tough, but not invincible. Changes to the ecosystem & balance of nature, has left these caribou on the brink of local extinction. Film maker Bryce Comer explores the stunning landscape these animals live in, as well as the reasons for their demise.
